Monitoring Alarm Events And Analysis

Introduction

ODM alarm event logging engine filters and translates the alarm triggered from the data collected from ODM-Mobile into sequence of events, where each representing a specific occurrence in the alarm lifecycle. It is very useful in alerting user of any abnormalities, sequence of event (SOE) analysis and work prioritization. The ODM alarm event logging engine follows the standard alarm management requirement from the plant automation industry. The alarm acknowledgment model in ODM further enhances the alarming features where users are required to response to the alarm.

User can define the range of values that will generate different type of alarms. By defining the alarm range, if a reading taken falls between the ranges defined, then the alarm will be generated. These alarms will then be recorded in database and be shown to users to take appropriate actions.

    • Highlight abnormal process conditions
    • Alarm acknowledgement by authorized user

Types of Alarm Type:

    • HiHi, Hi, Lo, LoLo alarm limits
    • Deviation (% from last data)
    • Alert – forced alarm from users’ observations

Alarm Events:

    • Change of events: Hi RTN Dev RTN Lo LoLo, etc

Alarm Event Page Display Option

Every logged data that is uploaded to ODM server will be processed by the ODM Alarm Event engine, where it will be verified against the predefined alarm limits. The engine will then filter and translate the alarm triggered from the data into Alarm Event, which is the sequence of events, each representing a specific occurrence in the alarm lifecycle.

Example: change of alarm event from Hi RTN Dev RTN Lo LoLo, etc

The ODM Alarm Historical database stores alarm event data where only if there is a change of alarm event is detected. This enable user to have better visualization of the change of alarm event and to perform Sequence of Event (SOE) analysis easily.

Should user would like to view the alarm status of every data that had been logged, then user is advised to filter the data by “All Alarm”, instead of by “Alarm Event”. Alternatively, user may use the Data Listing page where every logged data is displayed.

Display option available are:

    • Active Alarm - current latest alarm that is still active as on selected date
    • Acknowledged Alarms only – alarm event that had been acknowledged by user
    • Alarm Event only – alarm event list as per selected date range, etc (incl. RTN)
    • All Alarm – all data (every single data logged by ODM-Mobile) that has alarm status as per selected date range, etc
