Mobile Device Management

Mobile Device Management is used to manage the ODM-Mobile device account
    • Mobile device account registration information
    • Mobile Profile – define the content and settings to be assigned to respective mobile devices
Once the device is created in the system, the ODM-Mobile will be able to register the device with ODM Server and performs data synchronization according to its mobile profile
 

Device Account - Create / Edit / Delete

To create/register a new mobile / device account :
    1. Click on the “+” icon
    2. The device registration properties will be pop up
    3. Fill up the properties information
    4. Click on the “Save” button
To edit or delete a device, simply click on the “Edit” or “Delete” icon respectively, of the selected device.

As illustrated in above figure, the device account properties consists of the information such as Device ID, Device Name, Mobile Profile and the Passcode (must be unique) of this account.
 

Mobile Profile - Create / Edit / Delete

Mobile Profile defines what content and mobile settings that the assigned device will synchronize with the ODM server. This feature is used to manage and optimize the mobile devices in the field, such that only related content (e.g. template, task, location / equipment information, attachment files, etc) is downloaded and synchronized  with ODM server.
 
To create a new mobile profile:

    1. Click on the “+” icon
    2. The mobile profile properties will be pop up
    3. Fill up the properties information
    4. Click on the “Save” button

To edit or delete a mobile profile, simply click on the “Edit” or “Delete” icon respectively, any device who tied to this profile will be unassociated.

 

Mobile Profile Properties (1)

As illustrated in above figure, the mobile profile properties consists of the following section:
    1. Profile Info: - general information about this profile.
    2. Access Rights: - manage the system content / information that will be synchronized with ODM server (e.g. location / asset, tag group, task and user).
    3. Mobile Preferences – manage the pre-set value of ODM-Mobile settings / preferences in the device

 

Mobile Profile Properties (2)

User access rights feature allows administrator to manage the system contents or information (such as Location/Equipment, tag group, task and user) to be synchronized with ODM-Mobile.
    1. Click on the “Access Rights” tab menu
    2. List of available location / equipment, Work Center, Category and User will be displayed
    3. Select the respective settings that will be accessible to the user by clicking on the check box of each settings.
    4. Click on the “Save” button to save the changes
All information that is associated to the selected location / equipment, work center and category will be visible when user login into ODM-Mobile.
 

Mobile Profile Properties (3)

The Mobile Preferences allows administrator to pre-set the preferred ODM-Mobile settings in the device, such that all devices under the same profile will have the same pre-set settings.
The system allows specific preferences to be editable or personalized to individual device. This can be done by selecting the checkbox in the column “Editable” of the selected settings.
 
 

Mobile Profile - Assign Device

After the mobile profile is created, you may select the device accounts in the system and assign them to this selected mobile profile accordingly.
 
In order to assign device accounts to the mobile profile:
    1. Click the mobile icon of the mobile profile
    2. It will display all devices which have not been assigned to any mobile profile.
    3. Those devices that have been assigned with mobile profile is not allowed to be override from here.
    4. Select or tick device to assign them to the selected mobile profile.
